Driven by dual-carbon goals and the global shift toward new energy, China’s power industry has evolved from a “major national backbone” into a “global benchmark.” Leveraging its world-leading scale and advanced power system technologies, along with the advantages of ultra-high-voltage (UHV) “China Standards” and the strong export performance of new-energy equipment, China has achieved 2,080-kilometer, 7-second cross-regional power transmission. Meanwhile, Chinese suppliers account for more than half of overseas equipment demand, making China the core driving force in global power development.
Within the global power industry landscape, China has established a comprehensive ecosystem characterized by technological autonomy, large-scale industrial capacity, and worldwide application. This has positioned China as a key driving force in advancing the global transition to new energy.
China has achieved a shift from “following” to “leading” in the fields of UHV, new energy, and smart grids. Its UHV network is now among the largest and most advanced in the world, with ±1100 kV lines capable of transmitting electricity over 3,000 kilometers, reducing losses by over 40%, and cutting carbon emissions by more than 200 million tons annually.
In the first half of 2025, China’s PV module exports accounted for over 80% of global shipments. Chinese wind power equipment manufacturers such as Goldwind and Envision also achieved outstanding market performance, with Envision securing multiple major overseas projects.
China’s power equipment manufacturing industry has reached a multi-trillion-yuan scale, with total output value surpassing 1.2 trillion RMB in 2024, accounting for 35% of the global market. The industrial chain covers the full spectrum from upstream raw materials to midstream equipment manufacturing and downstream engineering services, with leading enterprises highly concentrated and collaboration efficiency significantly enhanced.
China leads the world in the production of power transmission and distribution equipment. UHV transformer bid prices are 20%–30% lower than those of major international competitors, making them the preferred choice for large overseas projects.
With continuous breakthroughs in China’s power technologies, Chinese power equipment is accelerating its global expansion—evolving from single-product exports to integrated exports of technology, standards, and engineering solutions. China’s power equipment now reaches over 180 countries and regions, becoming a core symbol of “Made in China” on the global stage.
China’s Power Equipment Exports (Jan–Sep 2025)
China’s power equipment exports have shifted from “cost-performance competition” to “technology-driven competitiveness,” with Chinese standards gaining broad global recognition. By the end of 2024, China had led the formulation of more than 120 international standards in the power sector, covering key areas such as ultra-high voltage (UHV). These standards have been widely applied in power grid projects across Southeast Asia and Africa, marking a new stage of “standard export.” China’s power equipment exports are expected to exceed 50 billion USD in 2025, continuing to lead the global market.
As global power equipment trends toward higher efficiency, lightweight design, and enhanced weather resistance, material innovation has become a core competitive advantage. With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Xiamen LFT Composite Plastics Co., Ltd. leverages technological innovation in the LFT field to provide key material support for the global expansion of Chinese power equipment.
LFT-G Long Glass Fiber Reinforced Composites (PA6-LGF, PP-LGF, PPS-LGF, PC-LGF) offer high rigidity, high impact resistance, low warpage, excellent creep resistance, and dimensional stability, making them ideal for applications such as power transmission and distribution equipment housings, insulator components, and structural parts for energy storage devices.
Among them, the PPS-LGF series can withstand high temperatures above 200 °C, meeting the long-term thermal requirements of power equipment, while maintaining compliant insulation performance to ensure the safe and reliable operation of devices.
Sincerely invite you to participate the 31st EP Power Exhibition and visit our booth.
We will show you high performance and popular materials there.
Looking forward to meet you.
